The Squat and Deadlift have always come easily to me, but not so the Bench Press. I struggled with it for years, making slow and steady progress and then stalling. Then I’d find a way to progress again but never with the same momentum as my Squat and Deadlift.
This was highly frustrating…
However, at the end of 2010 I asked Bill Crawford (a true Benching stud from the USA) to help me with my Bench Press technique and training. The results were outstanding. I went from under 700lbs to nearly 800lbs in less than 7 months.
This was the kind of progress I had been looking for. As my Bench Press poundage’s went through the roof, my Chest, Shoulders and Arms got BIGGER and I lost some body-fat. I had found what I had searched 20 years for:
I know what it’s like to suck at a lift. I sucked at the Bench Press for many years. My rivals kicked my ass on this lift (but I destroyed them on the Squat and Deadlift and this allowed me to keep winning competitions and world titles).
